SCOPE OF SERVICES

Because projects and clients' needs vary, Design Forward is ready to help Clients with any one or all of these phases of work.

Preliminary Design

At the first meeting a program of ideas is created to formulate the basic design concept. Here is the clients' chance to really express their needs and ideas. From there, a Schematic Plan is drawn and reviewed in subsequent meetings.

Design Development

After the initial approval of the Schematic Plan, the project is further developed and revised. Scaled Plans, Elevations, and Sections are drawn and reviewed by the client. At this point, the project is general reviewed by a Structural Engineer and/or Civil Engineer, as needed.

Construction Documents

A complete set of Construction Documents, or working drawings and specifications, is the final creation by the designer. This set will be used to submit to the Building Department and ultimately used for the complete construction of the project. Collaboration with a Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer, and any other Consultants is finalized at this point.

Permit Acquisition

The approval process by the Building Department is the first step to construction. The Construction Documents are submitted and reviewed. Once approved, permits are received and construction can begin.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Consulting

Design Forward is available at an hourly rate to help with design ideas, suggestions, or resources for those individuals who do not require the need for full design services. Meetings can be scheduled at your convenience, either in person or over the phone. (1 hour minimum)

Contract Drafting

Design Forward is also prepared to create CAD Drawings (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Miscellaneous Drawings) for companies or individuals.

Computer Modeling

Developed in FormZ, Computer Models will give a three dimensional look at a project. These models can be either Low-Res or High-Res. Typically Low-Res models are black and white and are quickly produced for a small fee. The full color High-Res models can take a few weeks to produce and can be costly.

Models / Hand Renderings

Hand crafted models or colorful, hand drawn plans are a beautiful way to document a project.
