Synopsis: The Rhine / Gomez Residence is a remodel of an existing 1922 Spanish-style duplex. The clients wish to add a second story with an additional two bedrooms and one bathroom to one unit. The design also will "green" the home - adding natural materials, energy efficient insulation, photovoltaics - but keeping with the historic context of the house. The home is located on a historic landmark street and must pass a through an historic design review for approval.
